Cookie Policy

How VDrive Private Hire uses cookies and similar technologies on our website, in line with UK PECR and ICO guidance.

Last updated: April 2026  ·  This policy is reviewed regularly. We recommend you have your own legal adviser review it before relying on it.

Quick summary. We use a very small number of cookies and browser-storage keys, mainly to keep you logged in and remember whether you have dismissed our help prompt. We do not currently use advertising or tracking cookies. We comply with the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and ICO guidance on cookies.

1. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. There are also a few related technologies we should mention:

  • Cookies — small text files stored by your browser, sent back to the website on each request. They can be "session" (deleted when you close the browser) or "persistent" (kept for a defined period).
  • Local Storage — a key-value store inside your browser that stays until you (or the website) clears it.
  • Session Storage — like local storage but cleared when you close the tab.
  • Pixels and beacons — tiny invisible images embedded in pages or emails that confirm a page or email has been opened. We do not currently use these for marketing.

2. Cookie Categories

The ICO splits cookies into four categories:

  • Strictly necessary — required for the site to work (login session, security). No consent required.
  • Functional — remember choices you have made (e.g. dismissing a prompt) to improve your experience.
  • Performance & analytics — help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it.
  • Targeting / advertising — used to build a profile of you for marketing. We do not currently use any advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

4. What We Do Not Do

To be clear: we do not use third-party advertising cookies, behavioural advertising trackers, social-media tracking pixels (Meta/Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel, etc.), or cross-site tracking. We do not sell or share cookie data with advertising networks.

5. Third-Party Services

Some pages may include content from third-party services that can set their own cookies (for example, embedded maps, embedded videos, or social-media share buttons). Where we add such services in future, they will only load with your consent and we will list them here. The third party's own privacy and cookie notice will apply to those cookies.

6. Managing Cookies in Your Browser

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you view stored cookies, delete them, block them from specific sites, or block them entirely. Quick links:

Please note: if you block strictly-necessary cookies, parts of the website (notably login) will stop working. General guidance is at aboutcookies.org and allaboutcookies.org.

7. Do Not Track

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is no industry consensus on how to respond to DNT, but because we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies in the first place, your browsing on our site is not used for behavioural profiling whether DNT is on or off.

8. Legal Basis (UK)

Strictly necessary cookies are placed on the lawful basis of legitimate interests under UK GDPR and Regulation 6(4) of PECR (no consent required). All other cookies are placed only with your consent, where applicable, in line with PECR and ICO guidance on cookies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when our use of cookies changes or when guidance from the ICO is updated. Material changes (such as introducing analytics or third-party cookies) will be notified on the website and, where appropriate, in your account.
